About

Eco-Logic Dry Cleaners is the first and only Dry Cleaner in the City of Lawrence that offers the environmentally-safe GreenEarth dry cleaning alternative, replacing petroleum-based solvents with liquid silicone, a gentle solution made from one of the earth’s safest and most abundant natural resources: silica, or sand.

Eco-Logic Dry Cleaners opened its doors on April 1 of this year. We are a small, woman-owned business, new to the area and eager to serve you. Besides being ecologically responsible, we are committed to top quality cleaning and outstanding business service.

We chose the City of Lawrence as our business location because its government and the community at large are committed to environmental sustainability.

Our cleaning technology is new, and was developed by GreenEarth – in partnership with Proctor and Gamble and General Electric. It does not result in environmental pollution, whether to the air, water or soil. There is no hazardous waste. There is no impact by the effluent drains directly into the city’s water system. There are no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) emissions from the solvents used by GreenEarth-certified dry cleaners.

The US Geological Survey defines volatile organic compounds – or VOCs – as “compounds that have a high vapor pressure and low water solubility. Many VOCs are human-made chemicals that are used and produced in the manufacture of paints, pharmaceuticals, and refrigerants. VOCs typically are industrial solvents, such as trichloroethylene; fuel oxygenates, such as methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE); or by-products produced by chlorination in water treatment, such as chloroform. VOCs are often components of petroleum fuels, hydraulic fluids, paint thinners, and dry cleaning agents. VOCs are common ground-water contaminants.”
